Stratego World Championships 2011
Jan 29^th, 2011, 1:44pm

The Stratego World Championships will take place in Newcastle, England between the 3rd & 7th of August 2011.

The Classic WC will be held on 5th/6th & 7th of August 2011.

There will also be the chance to participate in 3 other Stratego WC's as for the first time ever...... the Classic WC will be played alongside the Barrage/ Duel & UL WC's.

The dates for these events will be: Barrage = 3rd August 2011, UL = 3rd & 4th August 2011 & Duel (Peloton) on 4th August 2011.

For Juniors the dates are slightly different......but I will announce the Junior dates at a later time.

Full list of Senior Tournaments at the 2011 World Championships

03/08/11: Barrage WC

04/08/11: Duel WC (Peloton WC)
05/08/11 + 06/08/11: Classic WC
07/08/11: Team (Nations) WC

OK.......hopefully this should be enough Stratego tournaments to satisfy even the most addicted Stratego player. Wink

Hello my friend Underground,
It is almost certain that the greek team will participate in the world tournament. I know that every team is sustained by three players, right ? I would like to include also Jimmy Whispas in the greek team. Is it possible for him to be a player of the greek team, although he is Italian ?

Hi Sekertzis,
You can use any airport in mainland UK & I can get you good prices for trains & buses throughout UK.
Newcastle is obviously the closest airport Grin

but if there is a large difference in price then it might be worth considering other airports.
Hotels: We are trying to find the right hotels for the players so we can reccommend them to the players. We plan to use the coastal resort of Whitley Bay for the accommodation, it has lots of hotels & lots of things to do in the evening. Wink

Well, we should arrive in UK on th 4th and depart on the 8th. I'll check the prices between some airports for these dates and I'll let you know. Thus now we are waiting your information about the hotels and the prices.
It's great that the players will have the chance to meet each other.

By the way, we'll put the above logo in our website as well (www.strategohellas.gr). There's no problem with that, right ?

it would be nice if Richard could post all the pictures in the forum. It would be nice if anyone else who took pictures could post them HERE in the forum. When I go to Richards UK stratego site, all I see are multiple images of a frog in an icecube, and sometimes red frames with red X's in the corner.
Certainly, the obligation to make the pictures veiwable rests with the tournament organizer.........
