The World championship of Stratego will be held in Great Britain, Newcastle. An additional open tournament will be held at the 7th of august, for those who did not qualify for the national team championships (top 4 from every country). The individual WC will be held at the 5th and 6th of august.
 
There will also be WC's about UL and Barrage, more info can be found in the invitation.

On Metaforge we've got the great GA / RV Tournament especially organised for our multitasking Top players with a non trained memory.
 
Fortunately we've got an alternative for those who really loves great unique pure Classic Stratego challenges.  
In cooperation with the Underground (number one ranked on the Dark Planet) and the moderator of the Dark Planet, we've organised our yearly pure Classic live World Championship Stratego top event, which will be held in Newcastle in the UK from Fri 5/8 up to Sat 6/8. On our closing day at Sun 7/8 there will be the National Team Championship consisting of the four best national classic players qualified within the individual Tournament.
 
For diehards, the "Strategothon" will actually kick off at Wed 3/8 with Stratego Barrage, Stratego Duel and Stratego Ultimate Lightning.  
 
I like to encourage all Meta players to show up on this event to prove their Stratego skills over a 9 round Classic Tournament.
 
Especially for our GA / RV players we've hired Mr Caroussel Cees The Fox. After shuffling all his pieces you will notice that Mr Caroussel is able to play with 2 Marshalls and three spies. So all GA / RV players be prepared...............otherwise you'll walk in with ur Gen and Colo against his Marshall without the benefit of just one single Leuitenant.
 
Many players of the Dark Planet will be present as well and they can't wait to kick your a**s**ses.  
Additionally there will be great players who never plaed on the internet, but these are old warriors who play live Tournaments for more than 10 years at least.  
 
So no more excuses about vacation.....too far away........money expenses........diseases.
All Stratego hooligans are invited to come over to the UK. Personally I'll take the ferry from Holland to Newcastle. If you see a weird Bob Dylan fan in a black T shirt with a bearded m8 than you know for sure that we are in for a little practice on the Ferry. Of course we smuggled our bombs and troups through the douane. Lotto players be careful......not to blow up the ferry.  
 
Hope to cu overthere guys. The invitation prepared by the Underground sounds great and after every tournament day we can have some beers.  
 
Prove that real Stratego is still alive. Don't hide behind your internet desk and show us ur balls live.
