But credit where credits due......if you want to call my ability into question, then I will remind you of my record and kindly ask you to put your money where your mouth is.

But since you had to call me out I will come back at you.  No I don't think you would make top 3.  There are no doubts in my mind that hielco, lightwing and Sohal are all better than you.

Put your money where your mouth is!
$200 each via paypal to chip and the bets on.
If money was a problem then I wouldn't have a spare $200 then would I?
Let's go......chip gets a monthly subscription & you get the chance to take home $400.
What you waiting for?
$200......come on, it's not a big deal......but it makes it interesting.
You talk like I'm a chump who can't make top 3.......so let's go flyers.
Put your money where your mouth is!!!!
I dare you!!! Grin

you can although come and enter top 3 whithout any bet, would only take you 25 games.
money is not necessary in my opinion.

on the other hand it's easiest to make a performance with a very few games than being #1 like hielco with 276 games each 3 months !

i was #1 with a new account (Pd3a) 2 years ago
but i don't deserve rank 1 !

what we ACTUALLY need is a simple WC on meta. same style/format as the current "WC". round robin format where everyone plays everyone. not only because it would be fun, but to have a legitimate format to determine the true ranking of meta players.

everyone can pay 1/10th what they would in travel costs, and that money can go towards the pot instead of into some suits pocket.

I'd be more than happy to help organize/run it

Will be near impossible because of time zones and having to wait for each others game. Unfortunately, I do like the idea and have thought about similair things, it is just not very practical.

yes, i was thinking more of a "league" type feel. plenty of time to complete (3-6 motnhs) everything 2 out of 3. then a finals tournament for those who qualify

That should be doable but interest might dissapear after a while. If it would succeed, it would be a blast for the site Smiley

i only foresee the top players participating, so interest should stay steady. we all know who puts the effort in to show up and who doesnt. i will try to set it up sometime soon after MM. will def need input from players on league format and rules. if we could get 10 guys in the league, it would be nice to see what happens when the best play the best repeatedly over time.

i run a similar thing at a local bar for a bean bags league. its a big hit

Sounds good. Willing to help out, of course, if necessary.

Will be great to have the entire year filled with tournaments and/or events.

Doubles, MM, league, BRG tour, OCT/end of year tour (not yet announced.. its 6 months away! Wink)

I ran a classic league several years back.  Was very successful.  We did a round robin, broke it up into divisions, then had a playoff after that.  Had a link in the tournament winenrs page but believe that got wiped out with routine cleaning.  Was a great tournament.

A secret around here at Meta that no one seems to be discussing is who the best player here on this site is shitfaced.  If that were the case, let the cat out of the bag.  Devilsmacker is number 1.

I play at least 30 to 40% of my games utterly obliterated.  Probably play better that way as well.

I am also number 1 in lost marshalls to bombs.  No one is even in my area code on that one.  Flags in the 2nd row surrounded by miners?  Check.  Ramming generals into the front row by move 3.  Check again.

In all seriousness, the idea of a real world champion is probably a pipe dream unless the tournament was advertised for a year and played online, one day, winner take all.  That way you could link together the various good players.  A serious of qualifying tournaments could be held in each country to determine seedings, and a swiss system could be used to determine a champion.  Other than that you will never get all the good players in one spot.
