Here it is folks! The 2012 Metaforge March Madness Odds Sheet

Listed are each player’s probability and odds of making it to a given round. The odds are given as 1 chance in the number shown. Players in rows of the same color are in the same bracket. All calculations are based on players’ 12-month Krach rating on today’s ranking list.

Information about the 3rd annual Best Better contest will follow, so you may want to begin considering which players are most likely to “beat the odds”.

Okay, here are the Best Better Contest Rules:

Just like the Pick’em contest, anyone can participate. Everyone starts with 1000 Metabucks (fake money) with which to make up to 10 different bets (you can bet fewer if you want). Each bet needs to contain three things: The amount you are betting, the name of a player in the tournament, and a certain round of the tournament. For example, $100 on darkhorse26 to the Final Four. It doesn’t matter what that player does after the round you specify. The total amount bet must not exceed $1000, and each bet should be a multiple of 10. Payouts are determined by the table at the top of this thread. Any winning bet pays the odds shown in the table for that player and round, times the amount bet. Losing bets obviously pay zero. Post your bets in this thread before the games begin on March 1. If you want to change your original post that’s fine, but whatever is posted at the end of February will be final. The winner is the one with the most Metabucks at the end of the tournament! Happy wagers to all.

Here is my entry into the contest:

$180 on lightwing to win it all
$130 on BlasdeLezo to make the finals
$100 on darkhorse26 to the final four
$140 on NE-Pats to the Elite 8
$100 on johnkord to the Sweet 16
$50 on Devilsmacker to the Sweet 16
$100 on Ikeeya to the Round of 32
$100 on HANNIBAL to the Round of 32
$100 on blondegotbetter to the Round of 32

As an example of how the payouts work, if lightwing wins the tournament, I would get $180 times 6.1 = $1098 on that bet.

$40 on Killshot to make the final
$140 on Ilikethesauce to make the final
$20 (and a bottle of scotch) on Devilsmacker to make Final 4
$190 on McLovin to make Elite 8
$50 on McLovin to make Sweet 16
$150 on Iceman to make Sweet 16
$90 on Jayhonea to make Sweet 16
