his rank will improve soon enough, im sure of it. what is holding his rank back is that he lost a serious amount of games when he first started. when that bunch of loses drops of his ranking he will be flying. as everyone knows (especially the rank whores) its hard to climb the ranks when you have had a terrible start. hence the the outcry years ago for a new ranking system. lets just leave this nice guy alone to enjoy playing here at meta eh?

Screw that! Let's throw more rocks in this guys direction every time he beats anyone ranked in the top 30.

I think the most important thing we can do is rally around the so called "exception" to the rule.

Jimmy will be gone in 6 months but before he leaves he will go on another winning streak.  Against lessor opponents the next time I am sure.

Those in the top 20 will be putting forth their A games no doubt from this point forward against the jimmer alias.

Jimmy also has a lot of losses against top 40 players in the past week as well. Winning 3 out of 10 or so is pretty unlikely, but i really don't think the odds are astronomical.

I usually wouldn't get involved in this but low ranked players beating high ranked players is a good thing for the site. We want the lower ranked player to be able to compete with the big boys, rise in the rankings and continue to be a member here.

Ditto.  We want to encourage growth of the site and congratulate people on their wins instead of attacking them with false accusations.  It's pretty insulting.  jimmy1 had some great wins and he should feel good about them.  Way to go, jimmy1!  Smiley

I just played this"Jimmy" character twice.  I lost one and won one.

Didn't seem fishy to me in any regards at all.  The game I lost was a result of poor play on my part.  The game I won was due in part to jimmy's poor play.  If, in fact, this player is an alias for some awesome player, that would be unethical solely based on the amount of losses they have.  But I did not get that sense at all.  Seems like a normal player here who through many losses and help from others is figuring the game out a little bit.

I have a question though that might beg asking here.  If someone on this site monitors the accounts of players, do they have an ethical responsibility to make sure this kind of behavior Sorrows is worried about does not happen?   I mean could Sohal do something like this if the site monitors knew who it was?  I have faith that the moderators would not allow this, but maybe we need clarification.

I figured sandbagging would be tough to pull off.  Perhaps anyone paranoid would want to hear this so we could rest assured that secondary accounts cannot be used in this fashion.   Not sure you can mollify that small minority of people who will think this anyway but the verification might help.

Thanks for the clarification gentlemen.

Maybe I should start a second account and use it to whoop all the top 10 buttocks.  I could tank my games and get a low ranking as well.....Oh wait, nevermind, I'm already tanking and getting the crap kicked out of me for my low rankings.  Only different is I'm trying.  Oh well, maybe ill wait to lose games on purpose when I figure out how to win games on purpose.

I think Ive won like 2 games in the last week.  I hate this game.....and golf!

Well, the good news is that your ANNUAL Metaforge membership of $30 isn't even enough to rent a cart at a good golf course FOR A SINGLE ROUND, much less pay the green's fees, the $45 for a box of Pro-V1s, or the $1500 for a set of clubs.  Metaforge may be fun but frustrating in the same sort of way, but your financial advisor would tell you it's the best entertainment dollar you will ever spend.
